Broomfield, Dec.17, 2008 - MWH, a global provider of environmental engineering, construction and strategic consulting services, proudly announced the addition of Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun and Ms. Janet Linden Cooper to their Board of Directors, as it was identified that the move to increase the number of independent directors would be favorable for the company. This addition will both augment and enhance the knowledge and depth of the current board.
Ambassador Braun possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of law, politics, and international issues, with a distinguished career for over 30 years in government supported by a Juris Doctorate from the University of Chicago. She has served in various positions in U.S. government, including State Representative and Assistant Majority Leader in the Illinois House of Representatives, and Senator from Illinois. Ambassador Braun earned the prestigious title of United States Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa in 1999, serving at that post until 2001. In 2005, she founded Ambassador Organics, a privately held organic food and beverage company, in which she serves as President and Chairman.
Ms. Cooper complements MWH's Board of Directors with her vast experience in the areas of finance, accounting and international business. She holds an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Chicago, and has served as the CFO of McDATA Corporation and as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Qwest Communications. Ms. Cooper also currently sits on the boards of Lennox International, Inc., the Toro Company, and Girls Hope/Boys Hope of Colorado.
